Heya again! No apartment photos yet, mostly because the current state of my flat could be best described as “chaos”.

Instead, a grand total of two photos for you guys.

In other news, I finished the hatter!loli outfit I mentioned in the last post. My goal was to make it so that once you remove the extra crap (the hat/cravat) it won’t look too costumey or tacky and I’m pretty pleased with the results!

That’s it for now, I have a lot of stuff to do thanks to my amazing procrastinating abilities. I have an absolute shitload of school stuff to finish for monday/tuesday, in fact, so much that I don’t even trust myself to finish all of it at home (focus on ALL the distractions!) and will go to school to work on them tomorrow. I don’t even remember the last time I’ve been at school on a Saturday, hahah. Until next time, when I have hopefully managed to finish everything and clean my apartment (well, these will actually work together, since most of the chaos comes from the random fashion magazines/reference photos and drawings of half-naked women on my floor… I guess the homework could be worse.) so I can get those flat photos up!

Sorry about the lack of updates again… I am honestly always too busy or too tired to update. Here’s a really short and lousy post with a bunch of pictures to make up for it! (I mostly post photos on my tumblr nowadays, so if you’re following me there, you’ve already seen all these, hahah.)

Random gothiness from a while back.

University has kept me pretty busy (as has Skyrim, hahah). In one of my current courses we were given a “movie character” project, as in design a costume based on any movie character of your preference. I’m pretty sure we’re not “allowed” to go all costumey in the next fashion design projects, so I decided to just go all out and go with (Burton’s) Mad Hatter!loli. Sounds like one of those “lolified” cosplay costume nightmares in the making, right? Hahah. Could be, but I’m trying my best to keep it somewhat tasteful despite the already costumey inspiration. Basically I’m making a set of a jacket, a skirt, a blouse and a hat and I’ve been working on the jacket for starters since the rest of the pieces aren’t going to be as time-consuming. Here’s a work in progress shot since today I finally got it into a somewhat presentable stage!

Made out of a thrifted curtain and blouse since we were required to use recycled materials, lol.

I’ll start working on the skirt next. I’m actually pretty excited about this, I quit cosplaying a few years ago and I haven’t made anything this costumey since then. It’s fun, hahah.

Hello again, blog!

First of all, Google is discontinuing Friend Connect from use outside of Blogger. It will be gone on March 1st and this blog will be gone from your feeds by then as far as I understand it. I’ve taken the widget down and replaced it with a Bloglovin badge, and if that doesn’t strike your fancy, I advise you to manually add my feed to your reader of choice (taking a wild guess here, Google Reader for most of you) if you want to keep following my updates without having to actually visit the site. I’m a little disappointed in this decision, but there’s probably no changing Google’s mind, hahah.

Anyways, on to the real entry. I decided to really try and start fresh this new year and I’m actually succeeding so far. I decided to cut down on both alcohol and smoking, which I have done starting January 1st and kept up with. I still smoke and drink but I drink way less and have cut down by about half on my smoking. I also decided to try and tone up a little this year since I’ve gained a bit of weight (which I don’t mind since I’m underweight) and it’s all gone to my stomach. I’m far too lazy to start going to the gym all the time but I’ve started walking a lot and doing some exercise at home. Once I get my student card I’ll start going to the gym near me, I haven’t been bothered to go yet since I want my discount. Cutting down on the beer and actually trying to exercise a little should be enough to at least not make it worse, lol. All in all I’m trying to live a little healthier than I used to and so far so good. I’ve also managed mostly to fix my sleep schedule that has been completely fucked up for a good two years or so, fuck yeah! I also decided to actually get over my ridiculous fear of dentists and get my teeth fixed. I booked a dentist’s appointment yesterday but unfortunately I didn’t get one until the end of July. :/ Anyways, I’m going to be very pleased with myself if I can keep this up!

Oh, and here’s a photo of the short hair I refused to show you guys a while ago. It was a buzzcut a few months ago, now it’s starting to look decent.

I also started at my new uni on the 3rd and I’m now absolutely certain I made the right choice by quitting my old one even though it meant moving back to a smaller city, I’m really liking it there and this definitely is what I want to study. I’m actually excited about school now, I love making and drawing things and since this course is mostly all about that, I’m so very glad I decided to switch.

Since most of you probably don’t know about my education history (I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it here), I’ll just do a quick recap. I graduated as a dressmaker/fashion stylist from vocational school back in 2008. After that I worked for a while and moved on to take an art foundation course, after which I got accepted into uni for digital media. I realised it wasn’t for me at all but stayed on the school records because I had nothing else to do either until this fall rolled around and I put in an application for a design course at another uni. I went to the entrance exams a few months ago and found out I got accepted in the end of November. The course has a rather dumb title, “designer stylist”, basically it’s a mix of fashion and interior design with some fashion styling on the side. I’ll mostly focus on the fashion side of things in what it comes to choosing classes, but I’m also enjoying the interior design side of things since I’ve never studied it before. It’s only been three weeks now so I can’t report too much yet, but I’ll just mention that I absolutely love being able to draw in school and being supposed to do so. I spent most of my lectures at the previous uni doodling in my notebook, hahah.

What else? Oh yeah, the apartment! I still haven’t unpacked everything, I’m slowly and steadily getting there though, hahah. My new apartment is a 30,5 m2 studio with a kitchenette and a balcony, it’s tiny but it’s cozy and I don’t need much space anyways. I’ll post pictures in the near future once I finally get around to unpacking the last two boxes I still haven’t unpacked and organizing my decorations a little.

I lied. I am actually back and blogging before the new year’s. The move went well, I have been in my new apartment for five days now (stayed at my parents’ for two nights after the move because the flat was in such a chaos, hahah.).

Here’s the full outfit. I haven’t found my jabots yet (I swear I misplace them after every move! I actually completely lost two after my last one, this time I thought I’d be smart and put them all in the same bag so I won’t lose them… now I can’t find the whole damn bag, lol.) so I had to wear this old thrifted shirt to get some ruffle action going on on my chest, lol.

Jacket is Boz and the rest is thrifted, the fabulous necklace is from Sweet Delirium. I got it as a gift from my lovely canadian waifu Mellissa, thank you again! :3

And here’s another shot. Although now that you have seen my silly heart-shaped rug any and all goth cred I might have gotten from this photo alone is probably gone, but oh well.

This was taken a couple of days ago which means I’ve gotten a LOT done since then unpacking and decorating-wise but I won’t be posting new photos until I’m completely done. Hey guys!

I know I haven’t posted much personal stuff here (edit: Actually, now that I think about it… would you like me to? I have mostly abandoned my LJ by now and only update my FB with personal statuses, I could start posting some of it here as well if you guys are interested enough, hahah.), but here’s what’s going on in my life right now: I’m changing universities as well as classes, I am back off to studying fashion starting January (no surprises there, really). Media really wasn’t my thing after all. This also means I’ll be moving to another town this Saturday so it’s fair to assume I won’t be updating at all before the next year. (I also managed to come down with a cold at the worst possible time, I hope it will pass in a couple of days since I really wouldn’t like to have to move while I’m down with a fever.)

I also got myself a Tumblr despite having said I’d never get one previously, hahah. Feel free to follow, I post the occasional photo of my own and repost things that visually appeal to me.
